Merry Christmas to Me

I got a new camera lens! Over the summer I reached out to some sweet photographer friends. I knew I wanted the next thing to grow my hobby but had no idea where to start. One of them was familiar with my sweet Little Miss and the pictures I love to take of her. She nailed it by recommending a prime lens. I've been saving my pennies since.

This lens is fast, crisp, and great in low light. As I learn more and more I rarely use my flash so being able to work with the light around is key to having the truest colors.

Another great things is the ability to have great bokeh (fuzzy background look). For my portrait style this is wonderful. It's chilly so we only got outside for a few minutes. What would you guess is the background of this pic?

Yep! It's the neighbors garage door. Looks great though doesn't it? The photo focuses on what we all love (Little Miss) and not the details behind.

Amazing colors.

So crisp.

And so fast!
Moving toddler leads to lots of blurr. Fast helps.

While the camera is great and all my subject is really the best!

It's definitely going to take some getting used to not having a zoom. I never moved my body before to frame a shot. I love it though and am so happy to have found a hobby I enjoy so much!
