Parent Dedication

Happy Mother's Day!

Today is a wonderful day for me. Not only is it my first Mother's Day with my baby girl but it's also parent dedication day at our church. We've been looking forward to this for some time as we missed the one in the fall. This morning we have chosen to follow Hannah's example in the old testament by dedicating our sweet Little Miss back to the Lord.

27 I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. 28 So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.” And he worshiped the LORD there.

1 Samuel 1: 27-28 (NIV)

We are committed to raising her in a home where she will see Christ love and pray she will learn to love the Lord herself. I love that's it's called parent dedication because she can't make choices for herself yet so the privilege at this stage is really on us.

We have chosen Jeremiah 29:11 as her life verse.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Here's the beautiful dress she's wearing today that my mom bought.

I made a few tweaks and think it is just perfect!

Have I mentioned she LOVES to stand? I'm not sure if it's come up. ;-)
