First, my sweet friend Kristen is expecting a baby girl and I'll be having a baby shower for her (along with the help of Jen). Next, Adam and I will be hosting a meet and greet for a friend of his whose running for the Gwinnett County Commission. Lot's of purpose for this one room that Adam laughs at me for sitting in occasionally in the evenings.
I can't wait to throw Kristen a shower but the meet and greet, that took some convincing. And what better way to convince Adam we needed a new sofa for that room than agree to host a political party. Quite the barter, in my opinion.
The room has actually come along nicely since we moved in, it's just lacking in seating.
I've made it very clear to Adam where the void is by arranging the furniture accordingly. From the foyer looking through the Living room to the Dining room.

From the Dining room looking back towards the foyer. You can't really tell but the chairs have a checkerboard pattern or maroon, tan, and green.

Can't wait for our Saturday delivery! I'll likely make some new throw pillows eventually to match the chairs. Bring on the parties! But not too soon, I still need lamps (and if I'm really lucky, a rug.)
I think the new addition will work quite well with the Darcy chairs. Can't wait to see it all together!

The sofa is a good choice. Everything should look good together.
ReplyDeleteUse it often. Would love to see it. Shirley
I love your sofa, Susan. That looks very much like the style I'll be getting if we ever move to the new house. Where did you get it? I think I will need a love seat as well. Everything looks great. Love, Aunt Lorraine
ReplyDeleteLooks great! What a smart way to get your husband's attention! ha!
ReplyDeleteCapel Rug Store is having a huge sale right now....you probably have one in Atlanta. We bought all of our wool rugs there for our last house in Richmond. For here, I found them at Home Goods....saved lots of $$$$.
Keep up the awesome decorating! Can't wait to see nursery decor! Love, Lin
Love the latest sofa -- very beautiful -- sounds like you're getting it together rather quickly after having only been in your home a short while -- good for you -- keep shopping and looking -- it does all come together -- you're doing a GREAT job of decorating. Adam must be proud of you. Love, Aunt Mary
