Changes

Here's a picture to sum up the chaos that has been my life for the last two weeks. Please note the burp cloth hanging next to my headset and baby monitor next to my computer monitors.
I foolishly thought I would work full-time and keep Carolyn with me. While I have determined it is possible this situation is FAR from ideal. There were SO many things I never would have been able to envision until giving it a try. The main reason this is not working out is that I find myself constantly having to choose between work and Carolyn all throughout the day. This is very mentally stressfull and leaves me feeling like I've done an inadequate job with both caring for her and my work.

So.......... September 30th is my last day of work. I can't believe I'm going to be a SAHM (stay at home mom.) Many of my long time friends thought I was crazy when I said I was going to keep working. They knew me better than I knew myself. I loved my job though and before Carolyn was born couldn't have envisioned my life without it. It sure didn't take long for me to see that it no longer fit in. What's best about having loved my job is that I know what I enjoy and what I'm good at! I never felt like I was working to support my weekends, I enjoyed going to work every day. Many people never find this in a career and I feel very blessed that I was able to.

Sadly, for my blog readers, only one picture of Carolyn was taken over the last two weeks.

Here you go, cheering on the Bulldogs with her Daddy. It must be shared that not long after this picture something exciting happened in the game and Adam yelled. Carolyn was less than thrilled and cried for at least 5 minutes, haha.
To make up for the lack of pictures we had a photo shoot this afternoon to show of Carolyn's snazzy new outfit (thanks Great Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Bruce). She was the favorite in the church nursery today!
Smiling for the camera.

Standing up! She makes the cutest face when she tries to stand up. It's been hard to capture on film but I assure you, it's cute!!

Bare with me for two more weeks and then I'll be back to staging cheesy pictures for all to see!

  1. Well, congratulations, Susan -- I never had the privilege of being a stay-at-home-mom, but Angie has been able to for Mac (after 7 months). You will certainly enjoy "spoiling" that girl more if you're not working. The photos are just darling. Love the outfit and the one of her smiling. Thanks for update.
    Love you,
    Aunt Mary

  2. Well, I didn't mean to leave out Wil - he gets to ride the bus home each day and enjoys that and having friends over to play in afternoons.

    Love,
    Aunt Mary
